A Few Frequently Asked Questions

SO WHAT HAPPENS AT THE SESSION CONSULTATION?

This is where the excitement begins! We get to talk about what we can do to create the ideal session for you.  Your family, your personality, your style, your passions, what you are looking for, and how you want to be seen.  We will likely also discuss wardrobe, and location for your photo session. Overall the session consultation is just a fun conversation that allows me to give you what I hope will be a great experience. When your session day arrives, we’ll have a plan so everything goes smoothly–which means LESS stress for you. Session consultations are generally conducted via email, phone or text.

WHAT ABOUT MAKEUP, HAIR AND WHAT TO WEAR?

We currently work with Kitsap Glam as our primary professional makeup artist that we can schedule you with right before your photo shoot if you choose to have this as an add-on to your session. Hair is something we consult with you on and provide guidance and assistance with at the shoot but we do not currently provide professional hair in our sessions.  Wardrobe is something we will work with you on during your consultation and as often as you need up to the day of your shoot!

WHEN DO I GET TO SEE THE IMAGES?

You will get to see your images about a week after your photo session in a private online gallery that will be set up just for you that you can even share with friends and family. I create each portrait with care and I am always excited for you to get to see how gorgeous your portrait memories are. It is my goal for you to really connect with and love your photos so I will be available always for any questions/concerns you might have.

CAN I BRING OTHERS TO THE PHOTO SHOOT?

For some, I know it can be nerve-wracking and scary to open yourself up for a photo shoot and the support of a best girlfriend, mom or sister to be your cheerleader is always a good thing so feel free to bring one of them along with you if you need and minors must always have a parent/guardian present. Keep in mind though that your portrait session is only allotted a certain amount of time so if bringing others to your shoot will cause too much distraction that is something we ask you to consider. We also ask that if social media behind the scenes pictures and videos are taken during the session, you make sure to tag us or give us a shoutout!

WHY CAN IT BE SO EXPENSIVE?

Quality, custom photography by a specially-trained portrait artist is not for everyone, and takes an enormous amount of time and creative commitment on the photographer's part. Your session does not just consist of an hour of snapping photographs. There are countless hours on the back end being put in to getting to know you, customizing location, lighting, wardrobe, poses and then fine art editing each portrait piece to deliver you a truly high quality product.  We are priced in order to continue the premier service that is provided to each client.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY PORTRAIT SESSION?

We take cash, check, most major credit cards and Paypal credit. Online payments via an emailed invoice is preferred. A payment plan is also available here on our website which you can sign up for by clicking on the payment plan link at the top of our page.

WHEN DO I GET TO BRING EVERYTHING HOME?

I know the most exciting part of all this is having your portraits done and delivered! We pride ourselves on delivering the highest of quality which is not an overnight turnaround unfortunately. Your gallery of digital images will be delivered to you about one week after your session and the large fine art print will be delivered to your home 7-10 days after you have chosen your photo(s) for your print.

SESSIONS ARE AT THE STUDIO OR ON-LOCATION?

We are primarily an on-location photography studio but for those times when weather is not cooperating or you feel strongly about having your session indoors, we can work with you on coming to your home or booking a studio space for your session.

WILL MY PORTRAITS BE RETOUCHED OR EDITED?

Most of what I do is done in-camera during your portrait session with flattering posing and beautiful lighting. However, because I create a fine art product for each image this will usually consist of slight retouching to skin tone, blemishes, stray hairs, and imperfections in fabric as well as some artistic editing.  It is my absolute goal to show you your natural beauty as you are so retouching will never be heavy or change your natural look. If there is anything specific you would like me to edit please let me know during your consultation.
